Bunga Pala (Mace)

The mace, or seed coat, or thin, bright red membrane that covers the nutmeg fruit is often called "mace." The mace flower is a single unit of the nutmeg fruit. After the nutmeg is split, the mace flower is found attached to the nutmeg seed. Mace has a similar flavor to nutmeg, but is milder.
